A new disease profile is added to our database – Syringocystadenoma papilliferum. Syringocystadenoma papilliferum (SP) is a benign tumor most commonly located on the scalp or face and is believed derive from the sweet glands of apocrine type. It frequently arises from a nevus sebaceus (NS). Nowadays, it is accepted that the ecrine sweet glands can also give rise to this lesion. SP is a cystic invagination of the epidermis into the underlying dermis surrounding abundnant plasma cells.
