Professor Manuel Posada is a leading expert in the field of rare diseases, with specializations in internal medicine, public health, and preventive medicine. He served for many years as the Director of the Institute for Rare Disease Research (IIER) at the Carlos III Health Institute in Spain, where he led key initiatives in epidemiology and public health related to rare diseases. Professor Posada is author of over 150 scientific publications and editor of several books dedicated to the epidemiology of rare diseases. He has played an important role in numerous European and international organizations, including serving as the president of ICORD.
