Access of patients with rare diseases to radiotherapy and radiosurgery

The State Commission for Protection against Discrimination has scheduled a public hearing on a complaint by Pituitary Patient Association against the Ministry of Health and the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) for revoking the right of access of patients with tumors of the pituitary gland to modern methods of radiotherapy and radiosurgery. The hearing will be held on 29 May 2013 at 11:00. In early April, the Ombudsman of Bulgaria sent a recommendation to the NHIF to take steps to create a real opportunity for the use of clinical pathways for treatment of these patients.
