Ministry of Health has published on its site a call to the medical specialists with expertise in different rare diseases, scientific societies and rare disease patient organizations to help in compiling the List of rare disease in Bulgaria.
All propositions should be addressed to the minister of health and to include additional information about the definition, name and code of the disease; epidemiological data for BG and EU; algorithms for diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, rehabilitation and prophylaxis and propositions for organization of care according to current experience.
The List will facilitate the planning of activities directed to rare diseases, will lay the basis for the National register of rare diseases and will help to improve the medical care for this not so small group of patients.
